Jane (Teixeira) England is the owner and ice cream maker of England's MicroCreamery. In January 1999, Jane attended Penn State's Ice Cream Short Course as well as the Successful Ice Cream Retailer's Seminar. She was elected Vice President of the "Butter" Late than Never -- Class of 1999 at Penn State's Ice Cream Short Course. In addition, Jane is an active member of the National Ice Cream Retailer's Association (NICRA) as well as the New England Ice Cream Restaurant Association (NEICRA). In March of 2000, Jane attended the Ice Cream University in Tarrytown, New York where she received hands-on personalized training operating batch freezers and making ice cream. In June 2001, Jane successfully opened England's MicroCreamery located in the arts, entertainment, fine dining, historic district of downtown Haverhill, Massachusetts.
Jane grew up in Lincoln, Rhode Island where she attended Lincoln High School. Jane began her college career in January 1991, at the early age of sixteen, when she began attending Simon's Rock College of Bard located in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. In January 1992, upon completion of her first year at Simon's Rock, Jane transferred to Virginia Wesleyan College located in Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Virginia where her major course of study was in Theatre with a minor concentration in English. As a college student, Jane continued to fulfill her remaining high school requirements and in 1992, as a sophomore in college, Jane graduated from Lincoln High School with state and national honors. In 1994, Jane received her B.A. cum laude from Virginia Wesleyan College.
Upon getting married in Spring of 1995, Jane moved with her husband to the green hills of Vermont. While residing in Vermont, Jane worked as a Coordinator for Public Relations and Continuing Education at New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier. Jane and her husband returned to Massachusetts in December of 1997. Jane worked as a Corporate Litigation Assistant at Thermo Electron Corporation in Waltham, Massachusetts until the Spring of 2001 at which time she opened England's MicroCreamery.
Jane spends any available time thinking of new and exciting ice cream flavors to add to the menu. Jane is currently residing in Haverhill, Massachusetts with her husband, Josh, newborn son, Griffin and dog, Simon.
